Continue - Design Book cover

When I design a book cover, first thing I know that is a size of book I want to design and main point inside the book. Now, I choose size of book is 17x 24cm and the book will write how architecture change from idea to real thing.


I draw by hand, the first my idea is divide paper two parts. On the left hand, I use photograph to describe a building and all thing real. On the right hand, I use CAD to draw building that describe the idea of architect before it become real. Also, The book title I use mean this book talk about how and what thing help architect's idea become real.


In the second idea, I use plan and section to describe this book will help you know foundation architecture work. And on the bottom paper, I use a photograph overview city which mean this book support to architect from everything basic to higher quality. Also, the word ''ARCHITECTURE'' on top of the book cover and column word '' IDEA TO REALITY '' mean a architect is a human can change his idea to reality and this book show the method how architect can do this.

On the third idea, the first picture on the top is hand drawing about city and the bottom is the real city. Although, I put the word '' REAL '' in hand drawing area and opposite which mean an architect before he has ideas to design, he must know all thing about the city or building such as traffic, human, living etc.. Therefore, my idea describe an architect can change idea to real thing but where he get idea and how use it.

Idea development is first idea. My plan is use a camera to take a photograph about city or building and after that I use CAD to draw it again. Next, I use photoshop to connect two pictures to create a book cover. Also, I use photoshop to write a title on this book cover. The book title is '' ARCHITECTURE REAL IDEA'' and author is my name '' D. DOAN''.

On this idea, my type of font is Goudy Stout Regular and Imprint MT Shadow Regular. I use photoshop to choose the word font. The black word '' ARCHITECTURE '' use Goudy Stout Regular which mean an architect has many way to find and research for design. The red word '' Idea '' and '' Real'' use Imprint MT Shadow Regular which mean when an architect desire idea, he will concentrate seriously to development. At author's name, I choose my name and word font is SketchFlow Print Regular. I like  to draw by hand so I desire to this font for author's name.

Lesson 2 - Design Book cover

    This project I will design a book cover and my idea is design a book for architecture such as how to architect draw, architect work or where architect get idea.

• Show picture - house and building.
• Architect's hand drawing
• Plan, section, elevation and perspective.
• Author's name
• Colour - black and white - contrast
• Building - Compare - Fact and Project

After that, we add the logo to a box and try it with 9 ideas

We try the first logo with three boxes, one in front, one on the top and one at edge.

Next, we do the second logo, and its location is same the first.

After that, we try to connect two logo in one box.

Now, we design labour on each box.

Finally, we desire to choose this box. First thing, the box has simple design, our thought we need design a box very simple because inside the box has a lot of sushi and colour. Therefore, we needed a box do not variety colour and can see all thing inside. Also, the black and white area in front of box has meaning balance. We want to give a message to people use this box which is you need a balance in daily food, that very heath.

First lesson - Packaging Design for a Sushi

We're working a group which is outline idea about packaging for a sushi. We try to think about shape of box, colour , name and logo.

Firstly, we analyse how many type of sushi and what size and shape. After that, we try to put sushi to a box and think about what costumer need when they buy a sushi. We try to draw all the shapes such as rectangle, square or circle.

Next, we think about what think can connect when people eat sushi. We see that is chopstick and tissue. Therefore, we design a box which can contribute some items under. Also, we choose material to make a box is a paper and plastic cover it.

 Next, we research about original sushi such as fish and rice that is a idea to design a logo with my group name. We try to use yellow is the main colour for we box and black or white is cover.

To sum to, our main idea are day and night or sun and moon.

Hi everyone, my name's Dante and I'm from Vietnam. I'm studying Art and Design at DMU. My major is architecture. Before that I graduated Architecture at Yersin University in Vietnam.

I can use CAD, 3ds max and photoshop but basic level.
